London, 07/11/2016. Today, "Stop Killing Cyclists" (SKC) held a vigil and a die-in outside City Hall to remember 21-year-old Italian prince Filippo Corsini, who died as a result of a crash with a truck while riding his bicycle in Knightsbridge on the 31st October 2016. He is the 8th cyclist killed in London since the beginning of 2016. From the organisers Facebook event page: <<[…] Within a one week period, two people have been killed as a result of HGVs being driven on the streets of London. Both of these people were on a bike. They join the list of people killed who were crossing the road / walking along the pavement because HGVs are being driven on London's roads. […] Amongst other things, we are calling on Mayor Sadiq Khan to expedite the proposed star rating for HGVs. To start bringing them in from 2020 is nowhere soon enough, and especially not to start at the 1 star rating. Therefore we will be holding a protest outside of City Hall to bring our call to the doorstep of the Mayor's office. These vehicles have blind spots, the have poor visibility cabs. They are not fit for purpose […]>>.<br />
