Today LSE (London School of Economics) presented a public lecture called "The 17 Contradictions of Capitalism" hosted by the author of the book "Seventeen Contradictions and the End of Capitalism", David Harvey FBA (FBA (British Distinguished Professor of Anthropology and Geography at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, CUNY; he is a leading social theorist of international standing; he is among the top 20 most cited authors in the humanities and the world's most cited academic geographer; his work has contributed greatly to broad social and political debate; he has been credited with restoring social class and Marxist methods as serious methodological tools in the critique of global capitalism. He is a leading proponent of the idea of the right to the city, as well as a member of the Interim Committee for the emerging International Organization for a Participatory Society). Chair of the event was Dr Murray Low (Associate professor of human geography in the Department of Geography & Environment at LSE).<br />
