Rome, 17/04/2018. Today, journalists and their representatives, organizations, and members of the public gathered outside the Rome's Courts of Justice in Piazzale Clodio to protest against the proposal of the preliminary investigations Judge to close and archive the investigations and the proceedings into the murder of the RAI TG3 (State broadcaster Rai's third channel) journalist Ilaria Alpi and her camera operator Miran Hrovatin, killed in circumstances still to be clarified on 20 March 1994 in Mogadishu, Somalia. The demonstration called "Noi non archiviamo il caso di Ilaria Alpi e Miran Hrovatin" (We [don't close and] archive the case of Ilaria Alpi & Miran Hrovatin) was supported by Libera, LiberaInformazione, FNSI (Federazione Nazionale della Stampa Italiana - Italian Trade Union Of Journalists), Usigrai, TG3, Cnogm, Articolo21, Rete NoBavaglio, Amnesty International Italy. The demonstration was attended, amongst others, by: Luciana Alpi (Mother of Ilaria Alpi), Hashi Omar Hassan (The innocent man who was wrongfully sentenced and spent 17 years in prison for complicity in the murder of Italian journalist Ilaria Alpi), Paolo Borrometi (Sicilian journalist who has to live under police escort/protection because a Catania mafia clan planned to kill him due to his journalistic work and investigations about mafia and corruption – for more info please click here: https://bit.ly/2HckBvn). <br />
