London, 08/05/2016. Today, "Campaign Against Climate Change" held a demonstration to protest against the policies of the British Conservative Government in tackling climate change and to accuse it of not supporting enough clean energy technology. Then protesters, activist and members of the public marched backward from Trafalgar Square to the Department of Energy and Climate Change, Downing Street, Department of Health (Opposite the Treasury). From the organisers Facebook page: <<No more UK backtracking on climate! Since May 2015 clean energy technology has been sidelined in favour of a dash for gas, insulation cut and fracking, roads and runways pushed through despite strong local opposition. So what better way to mark the government's one year anniversary than to march - backwards - down Whitehall? A creative and colourful protest that will make a serious point: we're running out of time to act on climate change, and we can't afford to go backwards. […]>>. The demonstration was supported by: Art Not Oil, Biofuelwatch, Campaign for Better Transport, Client Earth, Climate Revolution, Fuel Poverty Action Group, Global Justice Now, Greenpeace, HACAN, Plane Stupid, Reclaim the Power, Solar Trade Association, Talk Fracking, Time to Cycle, War on Want, The Truth about Zane.<br />
