London, 14/03/2015. Today, "Defend Council Housing" and other housing organizations held a march around the Aylesbury Estate in Southwark to protest against the "regeneration" of the area which includes the demolitions of all the buildings. Protesters claim that the Southwark plan to redevelop the area will cause a reduction in the amount of social housing provision once the project is completed. A breakaway group clashed with police and security guards in an attempt to break through the security fence that now surrounds the estate where an occupation is taking place (to see photos of the Aylesbury occupation please click here: http://bit.ly/1MBoANd).<br />
