London, 28/01/2017. Today, activists, doctors, nurses and members of the public gathered outside the Houses of Parliament to march to the Department of Health in Richmond House. The demonstration, led by Hands Off Our NHS, was called to protest against the National Health Service (NHS) crisis which recently led the Red Cross to declare a humanitarian crisis in the British NHS and were forced to intervene. From the organisers Facebook event page: <<[…] With the imminent consultation around the government's "Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STPs)" NHS campaigning groups are joining forces with three main aims: 1. to raise public awareness that this is a package of £22bn of underfunding to healthcare services; 2. to put pressure on local councils, our MPs, NHS England and Jeremy Hunt to restore our NHS; 3. to hold a national demonstration and rally on Saturday 28th January 2017.
